Engineers of the Kudos Project are on a daunting social mission to revolutionize how we judge one another. They’re inventing a rating system for the work we do. And they want the results – good or bad – on the blockchain.
“Workers will no longer be rewarded with clunky, antiquated and discriminatory tips. Kudos are rewarded proportional to a 1-5 rating tied to each transaction.”
This sounds like a fascinating project, but we have to wonder where all these rating systems will lead. The Netflix show Black Mirror takes it a step further, depicting a time when augmented reality and a single ubiquitous social-media platform allows users to rate one another’s online and in-person interactions on a five-star scale.
Imagine uncontrollably laughing in an office elevator: 1 star.
Using a white lie to dump a friend and go to a party: 1.5 stars.
Preparing a sub-par meal full of leftovers for your hungry family of four: 2 stars.
Sucky date: 0 stars.
The Kudos Project launches its ICO on January 16, 2018. Until then, we have enough time to rewind and watch that eerie episode called “Nosedive”.
