2018 Travel Platforms Accepting Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Dash for Payment

Online travel booking platform Expedia has just confirmed that they will no longer accept Bitcoin for payment.

Expedia had been supporting Bitcoin as a payment option since June 2014, but stopped the option as of June 10. That leaves several other travel booking platforms that support cryptocurrency enthusiasts who are using Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash and Litecoin to pay for air travel.

aBitSky – The flight booking site that focuses on Bitcoin payments for cheap flights around Europe, Asia and Africa.

airBaltic – The Latvian carrier uses BitPay to process Bitcoin payments. The airline started accepting Bitcoin in 2014 and became the world’s first to do so. It charges a “miner fee” for each payment.

Indeed, it's true – we have become the world’s 1st airline to accept @Bitcoin as payment for flights when booking at http://t.co/7Bh1qCedds

AirTreks – The travel booking platform offers around-the-world deals and multi-stop international flights to maximize value and variety. The company assists travelers in planning complex itineraries (with up to 25 stops), including business class and first class airfare.

BTCtrip.com – The online travel agency accepts payments in Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dash. Bitcoin payments can be made through BitPay and GoCoin while Litecoin and Dash payments are made through GoCoin.

CheapAir.com — The US website first started accepting Bitcoin for travel in 2013. Cheapair uses Coinbase to process payments and allows customers to book air, hotel and car rentals with Bitcoin. In May, the platform became the world’s first online travel agency to accept Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Dash. The crypto payments are currently processed by GoCoin.

It's official! We accept #Litecoin #BitcoinCash and #Dash and of course continue to take #Bitcoin! Help us spread the word #cryptocurrency fans! https://t.co/WJG9GdW1sq

CheapAir is also currently the only online travel agency in the US that allows you to buy flights with Bitcoin. CEO Jeff Klee started the platform in 1989 from his college dorm room after getting a crash course in the airline industry while planning a backpacking trip through Europe on a student’s budget. “Our cryptocurrency customers tend to be very vocal about what they want, something we appreciate very much,” he said. “Over the last six months, we’ve seen a huge uptick in the number of customers requesting alternative currencies, so we’ve worked hard to integrate the three that were most requested.”

Destinia.com — The Spanish online travel agency accepts Bitcoin for flights, hotels and car rentals. All of Destinia?’s online offerings may be purchased in Bitcoin except for some hotels that only accept payment at reception and certain flights where the airline will only accept credit card payments.

Surf Air — The California-based all-you-can fly, membership-based flying club offering flights across California, Texas and Europe accepts Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum. You can charter a flight globally using any of the three cryptocurrencies. The company offers monthly memberships for unlimited California and Texas travel ($2,450.00), unlimited US travel ($2,950.00), unlimited Europe travel (£3,150) and unlimited global travel ($6,000).
